Healthy Meal Planning
The purpose of thHealthy Meal Planning Project was to get us all more aware of what we are eating and the big driving question, is it a healthy meal? First of all I recorded the amount of everything I ate for two whole days.Then I transferred that data into a website called www.supertracker.usda.gov from www.chose my plate.gov. After we put everything in our account we got precise numbers on the calories, sodium, oils, saturated fats, along with the intake of each of the five food groups the website would tell you if you had too many or too little of each category. After we got in our meals we were asked questions on what we have done so far, do we think our meals are effective along the amount of exercise we obtain per day, or does it qualify as a ‘healthy’ meal. These questions where problematic for me because I really have never paid attention to what I have ate or how much I exercised so this project really made me think and I realized that yes I was exercising a decent amount but I have not been eating healthy at all which I firmly announced through my answers. I then received part two of the assignment; I had to create a false meal, one that fits precisely the amount I need to qualify as a ‘healthy’ meal. This took a lot of Persistence and Collaboration because if I added one food to increase a particular food group, all the ingredients in that food will also disturb the other groups that were already at their perfect amounts and I had to not to mention I had to discuss . Over all I learned alot from this Project, how much unhealthy food I ate and how easy it was to fix that problem for now on i am going to try harder to eat in a way where it is good for me.
