VOKI CHINESE SPEECH
The point of the Voki Project was to practice our Chinese speech in a fun, new, and interesting way! We were introduced to the Voki website which aloud creations of virtual characters to relay recorded speech for educational purpose. The first requirement was to create a Voki character of which obtaining our appearance. We also had to record a paragraph that we initially created in Chinese then translated into pinyin and then English for the purpose of relation. After we have created our character and have formed a script we then had to master oral presentation of that script. So we can then be recorded while reading the script aloud and have it uploaded to that Voki character and published.
My biggest challenge during this experience was reading my paragraph without stuttering so I could record and upload it to my Voki character. I overcame this challenge by reading the paragraph out loud multiple times than necessary before I performed my final recording which came out perfect.

Listed below are the multiple versions of my paragraph written in Chinese, pinyin, and then English. All of which I had to practice communicating to truly be then able to recall the information.
The biggest thing I learned from this project overall was how to pronounce and read sentences in Chinese. I believe I can implicate this later on in life because you being able to write in a foreign language is great but what is the point without being able to speak or read it out loud?
The quality I grew most in was Communication. This project being only part of the process of learning a foreign language. I would define Communication in this project being a quality that means to engage in what you are saying and portray a message to other individual so they understand, but in such a way that not everyone knows how to understand. An example of me using this quality was when I communicated to my teacher about my first draft of my written paragraph where I received positive constructive feedback on my pronunciation of wǒ de shēng rì shì èr yuè èr shí sān hào; being my birthday. I also used that quality when recorded myself reading my personalized script, of which once perfectly recorded could be constantly played without flaw by my voki character.

My name is Colleen, I am 15 years old. I have six people in my family. I have one Father, Mother, two little brothers and one little sister. I don't have older sisters, either don't have older brothers. My birthday is 2nd month (February) 23rd (date). I am a high school student. For now I want to be a computer programmer. My hobbies are Robots. I like American food, so I eat American food. I feel listening to music is very interesting. I weekends often listen to music and build robots.
